Stuck on you

Finishing touches - Brush-on pink nail glue
around £1.50-£2.00 from Superdrug

It's not often that i absolutely slate a product, but here we go...
This is by far the worst nail glue i have ever experienced. Yes, yes i know its super cheap but thats not the point... shouldn't a 'glue' actually stick things together???

So, anyway... i picked this up from Superdrug as i thought it would be handy to keep in my bag. I wear false nails about 70% of the time, so i always like to keep a nail glue with me incase of any nail emergencies. I decided on this one as i thought the brush on applicator would be much easy and a lot less messy than the normal nozzle type for on the go use.
At first it seemed to do the job well, but literally any nails i stick back on with this glue are off again the next day. Its almost like a temporary glue.

I just think its pretty crappy really and i shall not be buying again!!!
For reference i normally use glue from this ebay seller and find it really durable and super cheap.

And the Essie obsession begins...

Oh Essie, why did you do this to me???
I mean really... selling your diffusion line in the Boots next door but one to my work, asking for trouble there like.
Yes, yes as you will have all heard the one and only Essie is now stocked in both Boots and Superdrug. And have i been sucked in? Well of course.

I had never actually owned any Essie before, but i had always admired it and once it became a bit more accessible i couldn't wait to get my hands on some.

I literally ran to boots as soon as i heard the news and spent (no lie) about 10 minutes umming and ahhing over which shade to pick up first. There is just so many beautiful colours and i had major trouble committing to just one!!! In the end i decided to pick up a colour which was unlike anything i already owned, so let me introduce you too....

Chinchilly
(A sleek granite grey)

I am normally more of a bright nail sorta gal so i thought this would be something a little different, and i actually really like it. As it is part of the diffusion line it is the new formula and larger brush, i  found this applied like a dream.

It retails in boots for £7.99 - but i used my advantage card points (bonus)

What are your fave Essie shades?
Mint candy apple and lilacism shall be mine on my next trip to boots - don't you worry :)

GOLD by Giles - Nail polish

I picked these nail polishes up from the new Gold by Giles make up range at new look. I really loved the colours!!! They don't come with names for the shades so im afraid i cant tell you that.

They retail for just £2.99 and seem like good quality. 2 coats should do the trick for full coverage :)

Have you tried any of the Giles polishes before??

Jazzy nails

Models own - Upotia £5
Models own - HeadKandi Ibiza Mix (NEW) £5

I love both of these polishes seperately... but together i ADORE them!!!
Upotia is a really really light creamy lilac which looks lovely on its own.
Ibiza Mix is the brand new glitter polish just launched as part of the head kandi range. Its a clear polish with bits of gold, green, blue, bronze and purple glitter discs in. I think this would look fab over most colours.

I love them... This is with 2 coats of the Ibiza mix glitter - i think one coat would look nice aswell though and more subtle.
Customers at work keep commented on them and loads have said there next stop was boots to buy Ibiza mix!!! :)

KIKO #part5 Shine on

This is the KIKO gel look top coat - retailing at £4.90

I am a bit fan of top coats and this one scores extra points for me. Its super glossy and a lot thicker than other ones i have tried making chips a thing of the past :)

"In a single stroke, the polish takes on a mirror shine, strength and superior hold." - KIKO website

It adds a lovely shine to nail polish, one similar to that of freshly done acrylic nails.

I really like this, and think the price is great considering it adds so much to your nails!

Check it out HERE

Coralicious

Another purchase with Boots 3-4-2 to blame!!! eeek. Working next door but one to Boots is doing my some massive financial damage at the moment... i go in on my dinner to get a drink and come away with a bag full of goodies. I just cant resist when i'm getting one for FREE!!!!

This is the Rimmel Londons 60 second nail polish in the summery shade of Coralicious. It retails for just £3.69.

I was pleasantly surprised by this!!! Normally fast drying formulas lack in pigmentation and the finish isn't normally too great, But this was different. The colour was really bright, the formula really thick, and the finish was really really glossy. It looked like i had a top coat on when in fact i didn't :)  I also liked the brush, it was nice and thick and made application a breeze!!!

So all in all... for colour, shine, drying time, formula and importantly price i cant fault this one. 10/10!!! & there also seems to be other lovely colours available in this range.

Skull and Glossbones part.2

This post is just a follow of from 'Skull and Glossbones' which a posted a couple of days ago. In this i mentioned i had added a little bit of nail art to the nails in that post, & here they are.

I kept 4 nails to the plain Skull and Gloss bones grey O.P.I shade but decided to make my thumb into a little leopard print number.

I used:
1) Barry M - 313 Dusky mauve
2) Collection 2000 - 1 Liquorice
3) Gold nail art pen (sorry not sure of the brand) but they are available at Newlook, River Island and Accessorize.

Skull and Glossbones

I recently purchased another O.P.I nail polish, this time in the shade 'Skull and Glossbones' which i believe is part of the pirates of the Caribbean collection?!?

Its a lovely pale, muted, glossy grey shade which at first i wasn't 100% about but now after wearing it for a day or so i actually really love!!! I am normally a lover of bright shades that really stand out, but i surprising love the simplicity of this shade.

O.P.I always delivers on quality... one shade of this gave perfect coverage but two added just that extra bit of glossyness. I find this brand to be unbeatable at staying power and managing to avoid chips & also the size of the bottles always amaze me - plenty of product in there!!!

I picked this one up on ebay for around £4
(i tried some nail art with this colour earlier - another post to follow)

Going dotty for peach melba

Just a few photos of today's nails:
(excuse the shoddy photos - these were taken on my iphone as my camera isnt my friend at the moment - boo)

For this look, i prepped my nails with a base coat as i find this helps the nail varnish last longer and also helps with the application and stops streaking. I then applied Barry M 'Peach melba' - a lovely pale, pastel coral/peach shade which is perfect for spring. I then used my 'Jin Qiang' nail art tool (purchased from ebay) and dotted H&M 'Wawawoom', a metalic goldey/bronze around the tips of my nails. To do this i needed to pour some of the varnish out of the bottle so i could get just the right amount on the dotting tool, too much means the dots just end up as bit messy blobs. I then sealed it with a top coat for extra shine :)

Hope you like :)

Metallic tips...

This week i bought a few bits and bobs by MUA (blog coming soon), included in this was some nail varnishes. So today i decided to see what they were like and do a little bit of nail art too :)

To achieve this look i used MUA 'shade 4' - a bright coral, MUA 'I <3 U' a nudey pink shade which is part of the love hearts collection. I then used a metallic glittery H&M nail varnish called 'Wawawoom' for the tips, using one of my new nail art brushes (number 00#).

I quite like this look :) - and it would work with every colour!!! I think i would do the tips thinner next time though, when i get used to the brushes haha x x x

Sale nails

I recently said i had bought some nail varnish in the ASOS sale, it arrived today so i couldn't wait to test it out...

1) O.P.I - Color to dine for
I really like this shade... when on its a deep, dark red with a gold shimmer
I gave my nails 2 coats but to be honest 1 coat was thick and covered well - the second coat just make them a bit more glossy
I'm very pleased with this one, especially with the reduced price tag... £7.50 instead of the normal £11

2) Models Own - Mixed up
In the bottle, i LOVED this shade, but when i first applied it i wasn't too impressed at all. The colour was streaky and really thin. It took me about 4 coats to get it how i wanted it - but then i loved it :)
It does take numerous coats but when they are complete its thick and super sparkly!!! Not too dissimilar to a Topshop one i bought a while ago 'Gypsy Nights' i believe although the models own one seems thicker and glossier!!
I paid £3.50 but it is normally £5

All in all really happy with these two purchases!!!
 Love a bargain x x x
(took some photos with and some without the flash just so you could see the sparkle)

Pink Fizz

Painted my nails with Models Own 'Pink Fizz' today
Had this polish for a while - but not used it since before Christmas.
I love the subtle colour and the coverage is fab!!! I only did one layer and it covered really well.
Have been really into dark colours lately but i thought what better to cheer up this drab Feb!!

(polish is £5 but i got it in the River Island sale for £2 - Bargain)
